Hello everyone and welcome to Hospitality Digital Marketing the podcast, I am your host Loren gray and this is episode #136, we are airing Friday, December 30th, 2016 where every week we spend around 20 minutes sharing the most interesting tools, news, and techniques being used in digital marketing for the hospitality industry. Some fun 2016 show stats —

we started talking about direct booking strategies in show 30 and kept it for all but two shows as a repeating topic

We started talking about the Marriott merger before the beginning of 2016 and other than 6 shows it was a topic

None of the tools we have recommended are not still in use

We first started discussing the VR versus Ar topic in episode 25 Feb 10th

We warned about Expedia’ accelerator program in Episode 28

We have discussed social media in every show

We have discussed Facebook or a tool or technique in Facebook all but once in 2016 Google is second by only one show dif

We actually broadcasted on Periscope in show #30 and Meerkat before 2016

We have broadcasted from AUS, CN, CA, UK 17 states, a car, a plane, a boat and a whole lot of hotels rooms and lobbies.

Second Quarter this year was terrible for notes

MetaSearch became a hot topic in the middle of the year, (I wonder why?!?)

Although I cannot show on all the platforms how many countries we were viewed at the couple that I can give us a count of 27 with Russia being third, (hmmmm)

By the numbers;

We were involved in over 7,000+ tweets / 1250+ Linkedin posts / 1,000+ Facebook posts / Hundreds each of Pinterest, Tumblr, Reddit, G+ (with a community of over 1,700+ members) and have over 6+ days on none repeating content on our own 24 / 7 channel. And a current regular following of OVER 1,000+ per week when combined with our simulcasting on Facebook Live / Periscope (add around 250+) / YouTube Channels and Huzza /Blab (when it was alive) followers.

Add also an average listenership on our weekly podcast, (over over two and half years of this current edition (four years more for the first edition, but not weekly )) of 400+ where we recap the live show within it, on iTunes / Google Play / Sticher / Blubrry / Soundcloud / Talkshoe / Spreakr

All with no advertising dollars spent.
